FAQ
WINK TRIDENT
What is the W.I.N.K. system?
W.I.N.K. stands for water injection nozzle kit.
What does the W.I.N.K. system do?
W.I.N.K. allows the operator to inject water to the nozzle allowing the suppression of dust. This is a dust free water suppression system.
Is there water in the blasting tank?
There is no water in the blasting tank. The W.I.N.K. system allows the operator the ability to blast with different types of media without down time. Wet blasting is now on demand under the control of the operator.
Can I mount the W.I.N.K. system to my existing blaster?
Yes! As long as you have the following hose diameter 3/8, 1/2, or 3/4 or 1 inch The system was designed for light / medium / dry sand blasters
What are the benefits of W.I.N.K. ?
Turns any blaster into a wet blaster. No more water in the blasting tank. No need to use rust inhibitor in the blasting tank. Gives the operator more control of media usage. Media velocity is not slowed down due to water / media mix in the blasting tank. injecting water into the blast stream helps the media to cut faster.
What kind of nozzles does the full size TRIDENT use?
FAST STRIP
FAST STRIP AIR REQUIERMENTS?
Simple but a very important qustion. The system is designed to use over 15 cfm constant. CFM is King the fast strip will give you the most performance using an adequate air compressor. its important to chose the right compressor and nozzle.
Fast Strip Mounting
fast strip was desinged to be used with the 90 110 150 200 pound blasters that use a 1/2 blast hose easy to mount.
Will I need anything else to use the fast strip?
YES A BALL VALVE 1/2 INCH.. YOU CAN USE BRASS BUT WE RECOMEND STEEL THEY WONT BLOW PIN HOLES ON THE SIDE BODY LIKE BRASS DOES.. ALL BALL VALVES WILL FAIL BUT STEEL LASTS LONGER.
HP MANIFOLD
HP MANIFOLD,I NEED A SPECIAL ONE TOP 1/2 INSTEAD OF 3/8
WE CAN MAKE IT!
I CAN MAKE IT WHY SHOULD I BUY ONE FROM YOU?
YES YOU CAN MAKE IT. BUT WE MAKE THEM TO FIT YOUR BLASTER WITH NO ADAPTERS NO CLEARENCE ISSUES AND OURS ARE SPECIAL CUT BACK SLASHED IN ORDER TO IMPROVE FLOW AND DIRECT THE MEDIA AND THE AIRFLOW AS EFFICIENT AS POSSIBLE..
HURAKANO
Im intrested in the Hurakano can i use it to remove powder coatings?
yes with water injection it helps the cut of the media you use. we always recomend using sharp media air flow should be 125 to 135. MOHS SCALE RATING ABOVE 5.
Whats that box in the bottom of the Hurakano
We call it a Steel Slide aluminum Agitator. it is controlable and the operator can turn it on to vibrate the mix inside the tank and the hose. it helps in moving media that has stopped flowing or is to light to flow.
CFM VS PSI
Whats more important on a blaster??
THIS IS A QUESTION THAT IS COMPLICATED AND SIMPLE. WE CAN SAY THAT CFM IS KING!! YOU CAN BLAST AT LOW PSI,AS LOW AS 90 PSI AND GET GREAT RESULTS. NOW FOR EFFICIENT NON STOP BLASTING YOUR CFM SHOULD BE HI IN ORDER TO MAINTAIN BLASTING. SEVERAL FACTORS WILL ALWAYS DICTATE BLASTING. HOSE DIAMETER,HOSE LENGTH,ORIFICE NOZZLE SIZE.
AIR COMPRESSOR
What air compressor do I need?
We always say bigger is better! and we mean it! cfm is KING. ALL SAND BLASTERS need high cfm. you can use lower cfm compressors but they will not keep up with nonstop blasting. Here is the straight scoop, you can blast with a simple piston air compressor but you better have a large pump, there will be catch up time. catch up time or recovery time means that the tank will lose pressure and will not be able to keep up with blasting.
MEDIA (ABRASIVES)
WHATS THE BEST MEDIA
There are many types of medias/abrasives. to many to list our top choices for wet blasting are 1. CRUSHED GLASS. 2. COAL SLAG 3. CLEAN SAND. 4. MIXES.
BLASTING WITH WATER
WHY ADD WATER????
INJECTING WATER INTO THE STREAM DOES WONDERS!!!! IT SUPPRESSES DUST. COOLS THE BLASTING CHARGE. STOPS STATIC ELECTRICITY. HELPS THE CUT OF THE MEDIA... ITS A GREAT OPTION THAT YOU CAN USE TO BLAST THICK PLASTIC/RUBBERY COATINGS OFF OF METALS BRICK AND OTHER SURFACES!!!!
HELPFUL TIPS!!
MY COMPRESSOR LOSES POWER??
THE SIMPLE FACT TIS THAT CFM IS SO IMPORTANT BUT THERE ARE A COUPLE OF TIPS THAT WILL HELP.
I USE A 1/2 HOSE 10 FEET IS THAT GOOD ENOUGH
YES THATS GOOD ENOUGH FOR A SMALL COMPRESSOR, A PISTON COMPRESSOR IS LIMITED TO POWER RECOVERY TIME ITS CALLED DUTY CYCLE. DUTY CYCLE IS HOW MUCH TIME A COMPRESSOR HAS TO RUN TO KEEP UP WITH THE BLASTING POT OR FILLING UP THE TANK. REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR COMPRESSOR PUMP,AT TIMES USING AN OLDER PUMP WILL NOT GIVE YOU THE AIR YOU NEED, A COMPRESSION TEST WILL VERIFY LOW COMPRESSION. SEE YOUR OWNERS/SERVICE MANUAL. A
